Printable PDF templates guide

PaperPDFs helps you build clean, print-ready PDF templates for home, school, classroom, office and everyday planning — calendars, planners, graph and lined paper, checklists, attendance and sign-in sheets — generated right in your browser with no account.

How to choose the right template

Start from the task, not the template: do you need a date-based view (calendar, weekly or daily planner), a structured list (checklist, attendance, meal plan), or a grid surface to write or draw on (graph, dot grid, lined paper)? Pick the smallest template that covers your task so the printed page stays clear and easy to fill in.

A4 vs US Letter

A4 (210 × 297 mm) is the default outside the United States and fits most home and office printers worldwide. US Letter (8.5 × 11 in) is slightly wider and shorter — use it if you print mainly in North America so the page is not scaled at print time. Every PaperPDFs template lets you switch between the two before exporting.

Portrait vs landscape

Portrait works best for lists, daily planners, lined paper and checklists where you read top to bottom. Landscape gives more horizontal room and suits weekly planners, attendance sheets, yearly calendars and any table with several columns. Switch orientation in the sidebar; the preview updates immediately.

Fill before printing or print blank

Type your tasks, names or notes directly into the preview to print a ready-to-use sheet, or leave the fields empty and print a blank version to write on by hand. Both modes use the same layout, so you can mix prefilled and handwritten copies in a single batch.

Print settings and scaling

Use "Download PDF" for crisp output, or print straight from the browser. In the print dialog set scale to 100% (actual size) and disable headers and footers so margins match the on-screen preview. Choose the same paper size in the dialog that you selected in the template.

Privacy and browser-local generation

Everything is generated in your browser. Names, dates, tasks and notes you type never leave your device, and PaperPDFs does not store the generated PDF. This makes the templates safe to use for family planning, classroom rosters or office workflows that you would rather keep off the cloud.

Which template type fits which task

Pick a calendar for month or year overviews, a weekly or daily planner for routine work, a meal or habit tracker for ongoing personal goals, a cleaning checklist for shared household or facility routines, and an attendance or sign-in sheet for classes, training sessions or events. For drawing, sketching or note-taking, choose graph, dot grid or lined paper.

Practical examples

  • A parent prints a monthly calendar for the fridge with each child's activities filled in before printing.
  • A teacher exports a landscape attendance sheet for a whole class, prints one copy per week and ticks it by hand.
  • A student uses graph paper at 5 mm spacing for maths exercises and dot grid paper for revision notes.
  • A household keeps a weekly cleaning checklist on the wall and a meal planner with the shopping list beside it.
