Printing tips

  • Always print at Actual size / 100% — Fit to page will silently change the grid spacing.
  • Use Normal (not draft / toner-save) so the thin grey lines remain visible.
  • If the right or bottom edge is clipped, increase the printer margin by 2–3 mm and reprint one test page.

  • Printing with Fit to page — the grid silently rescales and a 5 mm square is no longer 5 mm.

  • Mixing inch and millimetre spacing on the same sheet — pick one system and stick to it.
  • Ignoring printer margins, so the right edge clips one column of squares and the page looks lopsided.
  • Treating the grid as a calibrated measurement tool — fine for sketches and homework, not for certified drawings.
